Kanye West has new “lease” on life, we hear.
West — who’s been living in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium while he finishes his latest, delayed album “Donda” — now has a contract in place with the venue to stay there while he finishes up his music, insiders exclusively told Page Six.
We hear that initially West was essentially squatting at the stadium after hosting a massive listening party there, and then deciding to take up residence in the massive 71,000-seat arena to put the finishing touches on the recording.
He shared an image on social media of the cinderblock room where he is presumably staying, which includes just a twin bed, a TV and a small closet.
But sources also tell us the rapper has now also brought in a private chef. (In case you were worried that he was subsisting on the usual sports stadium fare.)
Reports have said West, 44, will now release the record on Aug. 6. We noticed that Atlanta’s NFL squad, the Falcons, has a ticketed practice at the stadium on Aug. 7. West has already been at the stadium during a pro soccer game.
Meanwhile, West’s team announced on Friday that he is also planning a release event for Aug. 5 at his temporary Atlanta home. Reports said he wants to concoct something different from the last event in order to give fans another experience.
The last one brought in a reported 3.3 million streams on Apple Music, and stars at the first listening party included West’s estranged wife Kim Kardashian and their kids, as well as Shaquille O’Neal, CeeLo Green, Big Boi and Jadakiss.
At the prior event, West — who appeared with his head covered by a mask — cried as he rapped a track about “losing my family.”
Reps for West did not comment. A rep for the stadium told us: “We aren’t at liberty to divulge any details as it relates to Mr. West’s stay at the stadium.”
