New concert added to St. Joe’s Amp lineup; more Syracuse shows rescheduled - syracuse.com

A new concert has finally been added to the 2021 lineup at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview — and others have been rescheduled.

Country superstar Luke Bryan announced that he’ll kick off his Proud to Be Right Here Tour Dates on July 8 at the St. Joe’s Amp in Syracuse. Caylee Hammack and DJ Rock will open the show at 7 p.m.

It’s the first new show on this year’s St. Joe’s Amp schedule that isn’t a rescheduled performance from the 2020 season, which was completely gutted by the coronavirus pandemic. Bryan’s new itinerary includes stops originally scheduled for 2020, such as the Darien Lake Amphitheater (now set for Aug. 14, 2021), but Syracuse wasn’t part of the original tour dates.

According to Taste of Country, Dylan Scott and Runaway June will also be among the opening acts for the Darien Lake concert but not for the St. Joe’s Amp. Scott replaces Morgan Wallen, who was set to open for Bryan until Wallen was caught on video using the N-word and dropped by multiple radio stations.

Tickets for Bryan’s Syracuse concert will go on sale Friday, April 30, at 10 a.m. through Live Nation. Presale tickets will be available starting Tuesday, April 27, through Bryan’s fan club The Nut House.

Previously purchased tickets for Darien Lake will be honored for the new date; additional tickets are available through Live Nation.

Meanwhile, more shows have been rescheduled on the St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview lineup, including Dave Matthews Band (now set for Aug. 18, 2021); Santana with Earth, Wind & Fire (pushed back to Aug. 17, 2022); and Goo Goo Dolls (postponed for a date TBA). Other shows shuffled over the last two weeks include Thomas Rhett (now Sept. 16, 2021); Chris Stapleton with Sheryl Crow (now Oct. 7, 2021); and Steely Dan with Steve Winwood (now June 23, 2022).

Bryan, this year’s ACM Awards’ Entertainer of the Year and also a judge on “American Idol,” will now be the first of just six concerts scheduled for the 2021 season at St. Joe’s Amp.

The Amp and other outdoor performing arts venues that can hold 2,500 people and up are currently allowed to open at 20% capacity; more may be allowed by July. All attendees are required to test negative for Covid-19 or show proof of vaccination, as well as wear masks and practice social distancing.

Large stadiums and arenas with a total capacity of more than 10,000 people can currently open with a 10% capacity limit, increasing to 25% on May 19. Smaller arts, entertainment and event venues, including bars and clubs, can currently open at 33% capacity with crowds up to 100 people indoors and 200 people outdoors.
