Going blond is not as easy as it looks.
On Wednesday, Billie EIlish shocked fans by revealing that she dyed her neon-green-and-black hair platinum blond, marking the start of a new era in her life and her music.
While superfans have known a change was coming — and suspected the “Therefore I Am” singer, 19, has been wearing a wig for a while — she took to TikTok on Wednesday to reveal the hairpiece, sharing in the comments that she’s been sporting it for “like 2 months.”
The video now has more than five million likes and 150,000 comments. “What in the Hannah Montana,” one person wrote. “This is why I have trust issues,” another commented.
Eilish’s hairstylist Lissa Renn also posted a (since-deleted) video showing how she lightened the superstar’s locks, a painstaking process that took six weeks to complete.
In December, Eilish announced plans to change her signature look and begin “a new era” following the release of her documentary, “Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry.”
Time will tell what sort of sound her new style will bring.
